At yesterday’s beach bistro in the wonderful Plumper Islands, we were just boiling some freshly caught Dungeness Crab when the floatplane from Kenmore Air called on the radio to tell me they had a special delivery for Fathers Day. The plane landed out on Johnstone Strait and taxied right into the beach. The delivery? Heather, Avery, and Kincaid Sund- my family. I was thrilled! The pilot (Tim) stayed and had some of what he called “the finest chowder he’d ever eaten” and soon was off flying back to Seattle. A special treat indeed!

The Floatplane Arrives at the Beach Bistro

Yep- it had to happen. In the vein of honoring other great ideas like the 8 track and the Pet Rock, Sund’s Lodge has officially joined the band wagon and set up a Twitter fan page. If you are a tweeter, a twitterer, or just a recreational twitter person, start following Sund’s Lodge on twitter and get the real time updates of all the going’s on up here in paradise. Enjoy!
