Do these people look happy?
Another Beach Bistro day and another splendid showing by Mother Nature. We have really lucked out this year. The day’s weather started foggy and overcast and the salmon fishing was solid. Boats moved up further along the Malcolm Island coastline and got into a fantastic bite at Black Bluff and Bere Point. Guide Geoff Millar’s boat hammered 5 big chinook with 3 landing in the mid 20′s with the 3 Stooges (their name, not mine). They had a ball. Big fish honors went to Aleta who banged off this 28 pounder with Capt. Sammy at Bere Point. All morning long the bite was solid for pinks, coho and chinooks. By the time we got to the Beach Bistro site in the Islands the sun had cleared and we had a fantastic beach lunch hosted by Chef Paul Shand, Marc Jubinville (crab catcher extraordinaire) and Jaimie Parton. In the afternoon some guests caught halibut, others trolled for salmon, and the whale watchers got into a fantastic show of Humpback and Orca whales. It is days like this when we sit back in awe of the beauty of the Broughton Archipelago and the Inside Passage.
