The fishing this week at Sund’s Lodge really started to heat up and is only going to get better throughout the season. We still have some openings in August and with the 40 million Sockeye coming by the lodge, there is sure to be lots of fishing and catching fun!
A beautiful morning for fishing
The group that left Friday were more than excited with their successful fishing trip and left with full boxes of Salmon and Halibut. As posted a few days ago, June 24 was the best day for this group with Guide Travis helping Randy reel in the largest fish of the season so far – her 40lb Tyee! For the rest of their time at the lodge, the other guests tried to top this hog but unfortunately, that didn’t happen… maybe this week!

Late Thursday evening, a storm began rolling in which caused us to lose a few hours of fishing Friday morning. However, those who braved the rough seas were rewarded with a good early morning bite and a total of four Chinooks were brought back to the dock.
Jason makes it into the King’s chair for a second time this trip with the 22lb Chinook he reeled in on this last morning
Overall, both the Salmon and Halibut fishing were better than average for this week. The past few days have also seen Coho beginning to arrive so we are looking forward to lots of activity on the water!
