Great friends from Seattle, San Diego and Montgomery, Alabama were with us at the lodge this weekend. One of these guests has travelled to the lodge 26 times and stated that except for the two days of strong South East wind, this trip for fishing was one of the best in his memory. These high winds have been hammering the North Island for a week now so change is definitely on its way!
Lots of Chinooks, Halibuts and Lings made this trip another successful one for this group. The boat loads of fish arriving back at the dock even included two Tyee’s (a 32lb and 30lb) both caught by Chuck Dilaura and a whopping 35lb Halibut caught on a Salmon rod while trolling by Bonnie Reddick.
This weekend also saw the beginning of many Pinks being brought back to the dock so more variety and excitement on the water is coming! Even the Sockeye will be arriving soon.
Captain Keith did well with the ladies this afternoon. Cyndi holds up her 28lb Hog and Bonnie her 20lb Chinook!

Victor and Bonnie had a great day with Captain Travis. Bonnie snagged this huge 35lb Halibut while trolling for Salmon!
Ward holds up his 14lb Hali and 16lb Chinook while Teresa shows us her dandy 28lber!

Joachim and Molly got in to the action fishing with Captain Keith and new guide Jacob. They limited out on both Salmon and Halibut bringing a 27lb Chinook back to the dock as their largest fish of the day
The Dilaura Crew did it again, this time with Captain Travis. Chuck got a Tyee AGAIN! This time a little smaller weighing in at 30lbs.

It was a tough day for some
The last mrorning for this trip was also very exciting! Many of the boats brought back Halibut and Chinook with Cyndi making it in to the Big Fish Chair for her second time. This time with our third Tyee of the trip – a dandy 32lber! Way to go girl!

Teresa, Ward, Bonnie and Victor finished their trip strong
The Pope of the morning
All of our guests this weekend were returning ones so it was like old times which made it exciting for the staff. Everyone had lots of fun this trip while enjoying great food and fishing and of course a little bit of wine!
More pictures from this group’s last day of fishing will be coming tomorrow!
